My Monthly Bucket List – May 2016

Where did April go? The past few months seem to have been flashing before my eyes. I’m in shock that we are now entering the fifth month of the year.

I can’t quite believe that in less than three months, we will hopefully get to meet Little Mister H and our second rainbow baby will complete our family.

I know that the next few months will fly by. And yet we have so much that we need to do before baby boy arrives. I have a very long to-do list to get through before our family grows.

To help me plough my way through everything on my to-do list, I decided that I will join in with the beautiful Beth at Twinderelmo and her Monthly Bucket List linky. I joined in with this linky for a while last year and it helped me feel more organised and in control.

My bucket list – May 2016

Work on the house

This is the month when work is finally going to begin on our house. We moved in August last year but have barely done anything to our new home since then. But next week, we will be having our current heating system ripped out and a new one installed. At the moment, we have a very old-fashioned hot air system. And before we can move forward with our plans for a basement conversion we need to change our heating and have the huge pipes that fill our basement and loft removed.

Then a week later, we are having our loft boarded and a hatch and ladder installed.

I know that this work isn’t very glamorous or worthy of Ideal Home. But it is important work that we need done before we can start making our house a real home for our little family.

Scans and appointments

I have my 28 week growth scan next week and then my midwives’ appointment the week after.

I normally hate scans. I find them nerve-wracking and worry that something will be wrong with the baby. But I’m actually looking forward to this scan. I can’t wait to see our Little Mister H on the screen. And Little Miss H will be with a friend so, this time, hopefully Mr H will also be able to see our baby boy properly.

Birthday time

It will be Little Miss H’s third birthday in May. I can’t believe that our baby girl is growing up so fast.

We have some lovely plans for her birthday. On the actual day, we are taking her to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park. Little Miss H adores animals and so a trip to a zoo or animal park is guaranteed to put a smile on her face.

Then a week later we are holding a birthday party for her at the Pup Cafe in Tunbridge Wells. This is a fabulous soft play cafe in the centre of town. We have the whole place to ourselves for a few hours and I know that Little Miss H will have a wonderful time playing with all her friends.

Afternoon tea at the Savoy

My bestie is taking me to afternoon tea at the Savoy to celebrate Little Mister H’s imminent arrival.

I am so excited. It is going to be wonderful. The whole experience of afternoon tea at the Savoy sounds amazing. And I get to spend an afternoon chatting and laughing with my best friend. What a perfect afternoon.

My only issue is what I am going to wear. I will be 32 weeks pregnant when I step into the Thames Foyer at the Savoy. I want to feel confident and know that my clothes make me look beautiful and stylish. But they also need to be comfortable as I will be very pregnant and commuting into London.

At the moment, I have my eye on the beautiful Alessandra dress short in Midnight Garden from Tiffany Rose*. I adore the pattern and the style is going to flatter my bump and pregnancy figure perfectly.

These are some of the main things that we have planned for May. I also want to spend more time concentrating on Little Miss H. In a few months, she won’t be our only child and we need to enjoy this precious time when we can focus on her exclusively.

What do you have planned for May? I would love to hear about your plans in the comments?

Hugs

Lucy

Thanks for your comment lovely. Sunny days in London are the best. Mr H and I used to live in Chalk Farm in London and I loved walking to Hampstead Heath, Regents Park or Primrose Hill when the weather was nice. We used to sit and watch the world go by. Sometimes in a pub with a pitcher of Pimms or a cold cider. Oh, those were the days! Hugs Lucy xxxx

It’s lovely reading what you will be up to in May. Nesting seems to come with pregnancy so I’m sure you will make your house a lovely home. It’s also great to hear of the events you have to look forward to. Thanks for sharing this insight. #monthlybucketlist

Thank you for your lovely comment. I do really think the nesting instinct has set in. I seem to be spending a lot of my time tidying and decluttering at the moment. But it is a good thing. Just over two months left until we meet our little man so I need to get organised. Hugs Lucy xxxx

THE SAVOY! You lucky girl. I love that dress too and think it will be perfect. Fingers crossed for a little sunshine to go with it.
Sound like a lot of work on the house but it’ll be worth it, and having floorboards, a hatch and a drop down ladder fitted in our loft was one of the best things we ever did!
    Have a great May!! xXx

Thanks for your lovely comment honey. That is great to hear that having work on the loft will make a big difference. It seems such a boring thing to do but it is so important. And I can’t wait for afternoon tea. I am going to eat so much. Squeal. Have a wonderful May too lovely. Hugs Lucy xxxx

Love love love bucket lists. I don’t have a monthly one, just a basic one which I want to get done. I like the idea of a monthly tick list though, may have to borrow this idea.
