This is the thirteenth Our Weekend Happy post that I’ve written for this blog. I missed writing last week’s post, which wasn’t great. But in the end, it worked out quite well as we’ve just had quite a rubbish weekend. Mr H spent most of the weekend ill in bed and I had a terrible migraine. The poor children must have been so bored. But they were as good as gold and happily played on their own for most of the weekend.
So this week, I’ve decided to write about the weekend I missed. The weekend of beautiful sunshine, which we filled with fun and laughter. And I won’t be writing about the weekend of sickness and boredom. And once again, inspired by the amazing posts by Kaye from Hello Archie, I’ve chosen to write this post mostly as a photolog.
My Our Weekend Happy posts are becoming my favourite posts to write and read back. I love writing these posts each week. No matter what kind of weekend we’ve had, It’s nice to remind me of all the happy moments from the weekend. I’ve also discovered, that writing these posts starts to get me excited for the coming weekend.
Anyway, in case you haven’t seen my previous posts, they’re based on a weekly post that one of my favourite bloggers, Lisa from Mummascribbles writes. I’ve always loved her posts. And so I decided that I wanted to write something similar.
Lisa and I now run Our Weekend Happy as a linky and an Instagram hashtag community. And this week we’re hosting week 13. We‘d love you to join us and link up any happy blogs or vlogs about your weekend. Also, please remember to use the hashtag #ourweekendhappy for any Instagram photographs from your weekend. We look forward to reading your Our Weekend Happy posts.
Our Weekend Happy – #13
Saturday 21st April 2018
We now have a new routine every Saturday morning. And I love it. We leave the house by 08:30 and we drive to our local park. Mr H then takes part in the Park Run and runs a 5km course around the park. While he is doing that, I take the children for a play in the play park. After about 25 minutes, we then head towards the cafe and meet up with Mr H. We then have a late breakfast and after that, we pile in the car and either we go home or do something else.
Haysden Country Park
This week after the Park Run, we headed to Haysden Country Park, which is absolutely stunning. The children played in the play park for a little bit. And then we went for a short walk around the lake. Little Mister H was very excited to see the swans before we headed home for lunch.
Football, Naps & Blogging
After lunch, Mr H headed to watch the final home game of the season. And he took Little Miss H with him, as her twin best friends were also going to the football. I don’t think it was quite as relaxing as his normal football trips! While Little Miss and Mr H were at the football, Little Mister H had a nap on the sofa and I did some blogging work.
We’d been invited to a pizza party back at the house of Little Miss H’s best friends. So Little Mister H and I headed over there. When we got there Little Miss H was already having a brilliant time playing with her besties and eating all the crisps. Little Mister H soon joined them and it was really lovely to see him playing with the older children. He desperately tried to join in with the game of football. And while the kids played, the adults ate pizza, drank prosecco and chatted. It was the perfect end to the perfect day.
Sunday 22nd April 2018
As we’d had such a busy day on Saturday, we had a very leisurely morning on Sunday. We stayed in our PJs, watched TV and the kids played on the balcony. I even managed to grab a few hours to do some blogging work.
Animals, A Woodland Walk & Hiding Our Mardles Rocks
We all got dressed before lunch so that we could head out the door as soon as we’d eaten. We were heading back towards Rochester later in the afternoon, to go to a birthday party. But before then we headed to Pepenbury Farm so that the children could have a look at the animals and have a play in the woods. We also took the kindness rocks that we’d made and decorated with Mardles stickers. We hid the rocks around the woods in Pepenbury. So if you find them then make sure that you download the Mardles app and see the stickers come to life. Little Miss H had a lovely time looking for hiding places amongst the wildflowers.
After an hour, we got in the car and headed to the birthday party. It was with friends that we don’t get to see often anymore. I used to speak to them daily and meet at least once a week. But things changed when we moved to Tunbridge Wells, so it was lovely to see them. And both Little Miss and Little Mister H had a wonderful time at the party. Little Miss H loved the magician and is still singing lots of the songs from his show.
Once the party was over, we headed back to the car and then put the kids to bed as soon as we got home. It was past their bedtime and they were both very tired.
Did you have a lovely weekend? If you’ve written about it then please remember to link up to Our Weekend Happy linky.
