Getting through November

I have to say it. I hate November. In my opinion, it is the hardest month of the year. And it is the month where I always struggle with my depression. I didn't always feel this way. As a child and a teenager I was indifferent to November. Nothing exciting happened. I spent the days waiting for December and the count down to Christmas. That all changed on Saturday, 23rd November 2002. That was the day that I made serious plans to take my life…

Because I’m happy – October 2015

A baby girl lying in her cot wearing a sleeping suit and smiling_with the title "Because I'm happy - October"_Mrs H's favourite things

These happy posts are becoming my favourite to write and share. I love spending time looking through my photographs and remembering all the lovely moments that have taken place over the past month. The wonder of a blog is that I get to record these moments. Because I know, in years to come, it is these seeminly uneventful but precious hours and days that will be forgotten. I know that Little Miss H is growing up quickly. When she is a teenager…

Sunday Stars – 08/11/2015

I can't quite believe that it is Sunday Stars time already. October seems to have passed in the blink of an eye. And now November is here. The weather has changed and the view from our living room window is wintery. My warm boots, scarves and coats are out of storage. Plans are being made for Christmas and before we know it 2016 will be here. I hope that you all had a wonderful October. Little Miss H and I have both…

iPhoneography competition with Three

Five photos of the iPhoneography kit which can be won in this competition_including a bubble pod, two mini studio lights, a phone stand, a mini light box with 4 colour backgrounds_with the title "iPhoneography competition with Three"_Mrs H's favourite things

I am an iPhoneographer. The photographs that I take every day and that appear on this blog are taken using my trusty iPhone 5s. And I love them. To celebrate the photographic capabilities of the new iPhone 6s I am teaming up with Three to give one lucky winner an exclusive mobile photography kit and help them perfectly capture those special moments. Our first photographs of Little Miss H were taken on our phone cameras. And they capture our day-to-day activities. From…

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere – a Parragon Book Buddies Review

A little girl wearing pink and navy, sits on a blanket in the garden and reads the book Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere_with the post title "Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere"_A Parragon Book Buddies Review_Mrs H's favourite things

I mentioned back in September that we are lucky enough to have been chosen as Parragon Book Buddies. This means that Little Miss H is sent a book every month to review. Recently, Little Miss H and I have been filled with colds and viruses. So sadly I did not manage to get the review for Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere up in time for Halloween. Which is such a pity as this book would have been perfect for the spookiest day of…

October’s Vlog Club – My top five favourite books

A logo for our Vlog club_a film clapper board with the title Vlog club_this post is my top five favourite books_mrs H's favourite things

I am back with my second vlog. Once again, I am taking part in Vlog Club and this month's prompt is to share my top five favourite books. It has been almost impossible to limit it to just five books. I love reading and before becoming a mum I used to read a book a week. There is so much wonderful literature out there that I love. And there were many other books that I could have included in this list. If…

Lumie Bodyclock STARTER 30 review – Wake-up brighter

I have a love hate relationship with this time of year. I love taking walks in the woods and kicking fallen leaves. I love being able to snuggle up on the sofa on cooler nights. I love wearing jumpers, skirts, thick tights and boots. I hate that it is dark when Mr H wakes up in the mornings. I hate the lack of sunlight. I hate that it gets dark early in the evenings. Which means, I am dreading this weekend when the…
