A heart full of love – The Siblings Project – July 2016

A mum sits on a hospital bed with her three three year old daughter and introduces her to her newborn baby brother - with the title "A heart full of love - The Siblings Project - July 2016" - Mrs H's favourite things

I always knew that Little Miss H would be an amazing sister. That she would be kind and gentle to her sibling. She would be concerned for their welfare and look out for them. She would also boss her baby brother or sister about. Demanding that they play with her. Telling them which character they were playing in her imaginary games. Probably a Disney Princess or a My Little Pony. She would read them stories, show them how to paint and teach…

What I wore … for afternoon tea at the savoy

A photograph of a pregnant lady standing in a garden wearing a floral maternity dress from Tiffany Rose _ includes the title "what I wore ... for afternoon tea at the Savoy ... when 32 weeks pregnant" _ Mrs H's favourite things

Back in May, my best friend took me to afternoon tea at the Savoy. We live at opposite ends of the country and don't get to see each other that often. She knew that she wouldn't be able to throw me a baby shower and so this was her treat to me. She has been hugely supportive through all the miscarriages and is a fantastic spare mummy to Little Miss H. I know how happy she is that this pregnancy has gone…

My Monthly Bucket List – May 2016

A photograph of a red children's bucket containing a yellow spade and some green sand moulds sits on a beautiful sandy beach, with a crystal clear blue ocean and blue skies with wispy clouds in the background - includes the title "Monthly Bucket List - May 2016" - Mrs H's favourite things

Where did April go? The past few months seem to have been flashing before my eyes. I'm in shock that we are now entering the fifth month of the year. I can't quite believe that in less than three months, we will hopefully get to meet Little Mister H and our second rainbow baby will complete our family. I know that the next few months will fly by. And yet we have so much that we need to do before baby boy…

Five under £5.00 – March 2016

A photograph of my five products each purchased for under £5.00, including Jelly Bunnies, a copy of Red Magazine, a heart shaped tin, a green bow hair clip and a rainbow belt - includes the heading "Five under £5 - March"_ Mrs H's favourite things

My gorgeous blogging friend Julia, who blogs at Rainbeaubelle, writes monthly posts called Five under £5. I love these posts. I am a very nosy person by nature. And so I am fascinated to see what my fellow bloggers have purchased for under £5.00. I often get tempted to go out and buy some of their wonderful finds. I've been meaning to join in for a while. As always I have found it hard to get myself organised. I could probably purchase…

100happydays – part one

A bright and vibrant photograph of a plant with white flowers and the title "100happydays - part one" - Mrs H's favourite things

I recently read this fabulous baby wish list from the beautiful and bloomin' stunning Heledd at Running in Lavender. In this post, she mentioned her love for Baby Wearing. Which got me thinking about how much I loved wearing Little Miss H and how I miss it now that she flatly refuses to go anywhere near a carrier. Rainbow Bean is due in July. And one of the things I am looking forward to the most is baby wearing a newborn.…

Because I’m happy – December 2015 and January 2016

A cute baby girl smiling, lying on a pink coat sheet and wearing a floral sleep suit with the title "Because I'm happy - December 2015 and January 2016"_Mrs H's favourite things

Last week was tough. Little Miss H had a very nasty sickness bug, which she eventually shared with me. It wasn't pleasant. But we are now on the road to recovery. And this afternoon has been hard. My emotions are all over the place at the moment and I often feel very tearful. To cheer myself up I think it is about time to write a new Because I'm happy post. I always love these blog posts. They never fail to put…

Winter muffins

A photograph of yummy Winter muffins (which include chocolate and mIncemeat) on a pretty floral plate, lying on a green, yellow and brown checked blanket - winter muffins_Mrs H's favourite things

I decided that baking some yummy winter muffins would be the perfect way to cheer myself up. Plus, Little Miss H loves baking and eating the results of her endeavours from the kitchen. These muffins are perfect to make with children. They contain oil instead of butter. So you don't need to cream any butter and sugar together. Easy peasy. And oh so tasty! They are also a great way to use up all that mincemeat that is leftover from your Christmas…
