Wicked Uncle Review – finding the perfect baby gift

A photograph of an eight month old baby playing with some fabulous presents from the Baby section of the toy gift service website Wicked Uncle - including the A to Z Alphabet cloth book and Rabbit in Dungarees Baby Rattle from Ragtales and wearing a Fun Bandana Bib from Zippy - A Wicked Uncle Review finding the perfect baby gift _ Mrs H's favourite things

Back in February the toy gift service Wicked Uncle challenged us to use their website to find the perfect baby gift for Little Mister H. We enthusiastically accepted. Poor Little Mister H doesn’t actually have that many books or toys as they often get commandeered by his older sister. And she isn’t overly happy with him playing with the baby toys that used to be hers either. As a result, I am always excited when I get the opportunity to get…

Stories for Life – the perfect Christmas gift

A photograph of the front covers of three books from Penguin Random House Children's Books including Max and Bird by Ed Vere, The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas and The Little Elephant who wants to fall asleep - Stories for Life - the perfect Christmas gift_Mrs H's favourite things

As a child I used to love receiving books as Christmas presents. And I often found a story wrapped up under the Christmas tree. A story book is the perfect Christmas present for children. Books aren't played with and then forgotten about. Your child will not grow out of a book. A book is for life, not just for Christmas. And so I was hugely excited when a package arrived through our door the other day. Penguin Random House Children's Books had sent…

Little Miss H adores fairy tales. Two of her favourite bedtime stories are Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. Our Book Advent 2015: A Parragon Book Buddies review

Now Little Miss H is here we have started a new tradition at Advent. Little Miss H adores books and so I love to present her with a book a day during Advent. Some of these books are new. But most are Christmas books that I have bought in previous years. Or books that we haven't looked at over the years. I love brown paper packages tied up with string. I wrap the books up in plain craft paper and use some…

A little girl wearing pink and navy, sits on a blanket in the garden and reads the book Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere_with the post title "Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere"_A Parragon Book Buddies Review_Mrs H's favourite things

I mentioned back in September that we are lucky enough to have been chosen as Parragon Book Buddies. This means that Little Miss H is sent a book every month to review. Recently, Little Miss H and I have been filled with colds and viruses. So sadly I did not manage to get the review for Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere up in time for Halloween. Which is such a pity as this book would have been perfect for the spookiest day of…

I am back with my second vlog. Once again, I am taking part in Vlog Club and this month's prompt is to share my top five favourite books. It has been almost impossible to limit it to just five books. I love reading and before becoming a mum I used to read a book a week. There is so much wonderful literature out there that I love. And there were many other books that I could have included in this list. If…

73 Questions

73 questions

I think I must have been living under a rock for the past year. Until Sunday, I had never heard of Vogue's "73 Questions" interview series. Thanks to my good friend Heledd who writes the gorgeous blog Running in Lavender for enlightening me. Inspired by these videos and Heledd's fabulous post, I decided to tackle the 73 questions myself. Drum roll please.…
