A heart full of love – The Siblings Project – July 2016

A mum sits on a hospital bed with her three three year old daughter and introduces her to her newborn baby brother - with the title "A heart full of love - The Siblings Project - July 2016" - Mrs H's favourite things

I always knew that Little Miss H would be an amazing sister. That she would be kind and gentle to her sibling. She would be concerned for their welfare and look out for them. She would also boss her baby brother or sister about. Demanding that they play with her. Telling them which character they were playing in her imaginary games. Probably a Disney Princess or a My Little Pony. She would read them stories, show them how to paint and teach…

My Monthly Bucket List – May 2016

A photograph of a red children's bucket containing a yellow spade and some green sand moulds sits on a beautiful sandy beach, with a crystal clear blue ocean and blue skies with wispy clouds in the background - includes the title "Monthly Bucket List - May 2016" - Mrs H's favourite things

Where did April go? The past few months seem to have been flashing before my eyes. I'm in shock that we are now entering the fifth month of the year. I can't quite believe that in less than three months, we will hopefully get to meet Little Mister H and our second rainbow baby will complete our family. I know that the next few months will fly by. And yet we have so much that we need to do before baby boy…

Pregnancy after baby loss

24 weeks pregnant – a huge milestone

A photograph of a pretty pregnant lady with long brown hair and wearing red lipstick, in a navy blue maternity dress, standing in front of a white wall and showing off her 24 week pregnancy bump _ 24 weeks pregnant - a huge milestone _ Mrs H's favourite things

Last Thursday, Thursday 31st March 2016, was quite a momentous day for me. It was the day I turned 24 weeks pregnant. It was the day that our baby became viable. A horrible term. But a milestone that means a huge amount to me and to Mr H. It was a day that I believed would never come. I know that we still have a long way to go until our baby boy is safely here. 16 weeks and counting. However, getting this far in…

A perfect Mother’s Day – My Captured Moment

A black and white photograph of a mother and her young daughter on a swing in the middle of a wood - with the title "A perfect Mother's Day" - Mrs H's favourite things

Last week, I celebrated my third Mother's Day. Having suffered from recurrent miscarriages, I know how blessed I am to celebrate this day at all. Having children is much harder than it looks. Not the process of child rearing (although that has its good and bad days) but the process of creating, making and baking a baby. That is why I never take my family for granted and I am so grateful that they are a part of my life. And this year's…

Because I’m happy – December 2015 and January 2016

A cute baby girl smiling, lying on a pink coat sheet and wearing a floral sleep suit with the title "Because I'm happy - December 2015 and January 2016"_Mrs H's favourite things

Last week was tough. Little Miss H had a very nasty sickness bug, which she eventually shared with me. It wasn't pleasant. But we are now on the road to recovery. And this afternoon has been hard. My emotions are all over the place at the moment and I often feel very tearful. To cheer myself up I think it is about time to write a new Because I'm happy post. I always love these blog posts. They never fail to put…

Baby wearing love – My Captured Moment

A brunette lady baby wearing her sleeping baby in a Sunset Rainbow Lenny Lamb bamboo wrap_with the title "Baby wearing"_Mrs H's favourite things

I recently read this fabulous baby wish list from the beautiful and bloomin' stunning Heledd at Running in Lavender. In this post, she mentioned her love for Baby Wearing. Which got me thinking about how much I loved wearing Little Miss H and how I miss it now that she flatly refuses to go anywhere near a carrier. Rainbow Bean is due in July. And one of the things I am looking forward to the most is baby wearing a newborn.…

A padded book of "The Three Little Pigs" with illustrations by Mei Matsuoka_this is part of Parragon Books Slide and See Fairy Tales_ with the title "The Three Little Pigs - A Parragon Book Buddies Review"_Mrs H's favourite things

Little Miss H adores fairy tales. Two of her favourite bedtime stories are Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. We also have a few fairy tale anthologies and touch and feel board books of Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood. One story that was missing from our collection was The Three Little Pigs. We are lucky enough to be Parragon Book Buddies and back in December we received a copy of their fabulous new version of The Three…
