A photograph of a four year old girl playing with the fabulous educational toy the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book that can be bought at Bigjigs - this is the review of that toy -which is part of our role as members of the Bigjigs Play Patrol - Mrs H's favourite things

Back in April we were thrilled to be chosen to be part of the Bigjigs Play Patrol. It is a role that Little Miss H and Little Mister H have thrown themselves into. And they had a lovely time when they reviewed the Bigjigs Rainbow Rattle and Garden Bead Box. Then in May, Little Miss H was sent the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book. A fantastic educational toy that is designed to support the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1. ZooBooKoo…

Sunshine in a box – reviewing the Sunshine Subscription Box

Back in March I was feeling very blue and I needed some extra sunshine in my life so it was lovely to be able to review the Sunshine subscription Box - the Sunshine Box is the perfect present to help cheer a friend up when they are having a hard time - Sunshine in a box - Reviewing the Sunshine Subscription Box - Mrs H's favourite things

I was feeling quite blue in March. So I was thrilled when the lovely people from Pebblewise said that they would send me that month’s Sunshine Subscription Box to review. “A monthly box of surprises thoughtfully handpicked to raise spirits and bring a little sunshine into everyone’s lives.” I love the idea of a box of goodies that has been picked especially to brighten someone’s day. There are often times when I’ve wanted to send a gift to a friend who has been…

BigJigs Rainbow Rattle & Garden Bead Box review

A photograph of a baby boy sitting on a striped blanket in a garden and playing with the Bigjigs Rainbow Rattle - Bigjigs Play Patrol Rainbow Rattle and Garden Bead Box - Mrs H's favourite things

I’m delighted to announce that we’ve recently been chosen to be part of the Bigjigs Play Patrol. Bigjigs is a brand that I have loved and admired for a long time. I always prefer, where possible, to support and buy from brands that have been founded in the UK and have been built on strong ethical roots. Bigjigs was started in 1985 by Peter and Liz Ireland. Peter and Liz are still Directors of the company and have now been joined by…

toTs by SmarTrike Voyage Changing Bag – a review

A photograph of the toTs by SmarTrike Dark Grey Melange Voyage Changing Bag sitting in the sunshine on a pebbly beach _ tots by SmarTrike Dark Grey Melange Voyage Changing Bag _ A review _ Mrs H's favourite things

A changing bag is one of the most important purchases you will make as a new parent. We bought a cheap and basic changing bag when I was pregnant with Little Miss H. It was boring and black. And after a month it needed replacing. So I bought a Cath Kidston floral backpack. Mr H HATED this bag. A pretty floral bag is really not his style. This bag was big enough for Little Miss H's belongings. But I knew that…

Stories for Life – the perfect Christmas gift

A photograph of the front covers of three books from Penguin Random House Children's Books including Max and Bird by Ed Vere, The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas and The Little Elephant who wants to fall asleep - Stories for Life - the perfect Christmas gift_Mrs H's favourite things

As a child I used to love receiving books as Christmas presents. And I often found a story wrapped up under the Christmas tree. A story book is the perfect Christmas present for children. Books aren't played with and then forgotten about. Your child will not grow out of a book. A book is for life, not just for Christmas. And so I was hugely excited when a package arrived through our door the other day. Penguin Random House Children's Books had sent…

Before becoming a mother, I was a charity fundraiser. I cared deeply and I wanted to make a difference in the world. But since becoming a mother, my desire to help other's has increased. And I'm especially drawn to organisations and social enterprises that help disadvantaged and vulnerable children. That is why I was thrilled when From Babies with Love asked me to review some products from their AW16 Capsule Collection of beautiful organic baby clothes.…

Bluestone Wales – A review of the resort and Kingdom of the Elves

A photograph of a little girl standing in front of a Skomer Lodge at Bluestone National Park Resort, Pembrokeshire, Wales _ Mrs H's favourite things

Earlier this month we packed up our car and drove for 5 hours to Pembrokeshire. Bluestone National Park Resort in Wales had invited us for an early Christmas break and to visit their 2016 Christmas experience Kingdom of the Elves. This is my first post about our winter holiday at Bluestone. I thought that I would begin by sharing a review of the accommodation, the resort itself and our visit to the Kingdom of the Elves. In a few days time…

Shopkins: Chef Club – review

A photograph of the DVD cover of SHOPKINS: CHEF CLUB_ a brightly coloured animation many characters from the show_SHOPKINS: CHEF CLUB - a review - Mrs H's favourite things

Little Miss H loves Shopkins. She first became interested in them after watching a number of YouTube videos of the toys being opened and played with. It is amazing how much enjoyment a three-year old can get from watching someone open a toy! She then moved on to watching the Shopkins animated webisodes which can be found on the Shopkins YouTube channel. If we let her then she would be very happy to watch these webisodes for hours. So when Universal contacted me…
