Back in April we were thrilled to be chosen to be part of the Bigjigs Play Patrol. It is a role that Little Miss H and Little Mister H have thrown themselves into. And they had a lovely time when they reviewed the Bigjigs Rainbow Rattle and Garden Bead Box. Then in May, Little Miss H was sent the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book. A fantastic educational toy that is designed to support the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book
I have to admit that when I first opened up the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book I was perplexed. I didn’t quite get it. Would it help Little Miss H with her phonics? Was it a puzzle? Or maybe she is too young for it?
I needn’t have worried. Because Little Miss H is intrigued by this educational cube. She loves to turn the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book in all directions and spot the different pictures.
She also enjoys naming the letters of the alphabet. And she is excellent at finding the letters from her name.
We also use the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book in a number of other ways. The cube helps to promote discussions about letters and sounds.
Little Miss H looks at the pictures and then we talk about the word that matches them. I ask her if she recognises any letters in the word. Or if she can tell me the sound the word begins with. And then if she knows any other words that feature that sound. The Cube is a fabulous and engaging way to promote these discussions.
Little Miss H also likes to play with the Cube independently. But only for short periods of time. Which is fine. She is only four years old and at this age learning needs to be fun. And one of the beauties of the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube is that Little Miss H can pick it up and control her own learning.

The ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book can also be used alongside other toys.
Does Little Miss H like the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book?
I knew that the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book was a success with Little Miss H when she uttered these words.
“Please can I take it to show my teachers?”
Little Miss always wants to take her favourite belongings to show her teachers. So far Little Miss H has given this honour to her Snow White doll, various fancy dress costumes, her Fairytale Hairdresser books, Pinkie Pie and now the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book. She showed her teachers the cube and excitedly pointed out the letters, pictures and sounds that she knows.
If you are looking for an educational toy that will help your child with their spellings and phonics then the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book is perfect. I do think that Little Miss H is too young at the moment to get the most from the Spelling Cube. But when she is in Reception next year, then the Cube will be a fantastic way to help with home learning.
Do you have a child in Key Stage 1? Have you heard of the ZooBooKoo Spelling Cube Book? What do you think of it?
