Love The Little Things – Week 6

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I know…I know. I’m late again. I really need to become more organised about this blogging malarkey. I really need to become more organised in general.

Anyway, I’m here now. So time to link up with the gorgeous Morgana at But why mummy why and show my love for the little things

My sister-in-law visited and brought with her a collection of magazines designed to feed my insatiable appetite for celebrity gossip. During nap time, I have sat down with a cup of tea and devoured Heat and Now cover to cover. I’m now fully up to date with all the life events of Beyonce, Jordan, Cheryl et al.

I am a huge Doctor Who fan but I haven’t had time to watch the new series. The other evening I finally managed to settle myself on the sofa with a cuppa (I LOVE tea) and watched the first episode. I had read some mixed reviews about Peter Capaldi’s Doctor but I was pleasantly surprised. I liked it! I really liked it!

The last series was quite poor and the show needed a revamp. Peter Capaldi has bought an edge to the Doctor and I hope it will give the series a new dimension.

I always loved Matt Smith and David Tennant (swoon) as the Doctor. But their Doctors could be melodramatic, sentimental and mawkish. The new Doctor is darker and  mysterious.

On Thursday, I went into London to have cocktails and Mexican food with some of my fabulous ex-colleagues from CRUK; the gorgeous Miss M and Mrs PB.

I had to catch the train and so I decided to play it casual. I wore my stripy Primarni top, ASOS boyfriend jeans and ASOS suede ankle boots. I decided to add a little glam to the outfit with long straight locks, a statement necklace and a rose pink lippy. And my trusty Uniqlo parka was on hand to protect me from the cool night air.

Please forgive me for the rubbish photo. Mr H was kind enough to snap me just as I was running out the door to catch the train.

We’ve been trying to teach Little Miss H animal noises. She is now very good at “baaaaa”! In fact, she is so good that it is all I have really heard for the past few days. It is lucky that it is very cute.

I baked these cheese scones from the BBC website for a play date that I was hosting. They were yummy and I decided to bake another batch for lunch.

I made Little Miss H some star shaped scones. I served these warm with a little butter, a tomato, cucumber and beetroot salad and some carrot puffs. I ate the same but my scones were round (boring) with ham on the side. Lunch was a great success!

And lastly

This is the first blog that I have written on my new iPad. How exciting is that?

I hope you had a great week and Monday wasn’t too painful. I would love to hear all about what you’ve been up to. Also, if there are any Doctor Who fans out there then what do you think of the new Doctor?

PS Please go and have a look at the other #littleloves at But why mummy why. I love to read what everyone has been up to.

Completely agree with you on Doctor Who – really loving Peter Capaldi’s Doctor! Loved David Tennant, and Matt Smith grew on me, but I am struggling to like Clara!

Peter Capaldi is brilliant as the doctor. I am glad that I’m not the only one who thinks so. I think it helps that he is older and that there won’t be any romantic tension or flirting. I know what you mean about Clara. I struggled with the whole Impossible Girl storyline. I loved Amy and especially Rory. But at least Clara is better than Martha! Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Hey, I just got an iPad too – finding it royally frustrating! Great for fun, but the apps are all missing something in the equation and I constantly have to force back to desktop when I’m working. Grrr. (No patience with technology!)

I think it does take a while. I have an iPhone so it seems quite logical to me but my husband really can’t get to grips with it. The only problem is that it is another piece of technology for me to get addicted to. I hope you find it less frustrating soon. And thanks for visiting my little blog domain. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

I am also a relatively new ipad owner and I am LOVING it. Not sure I’m up to writing blog posts though, they usually involve a bit of cutting and pasting of code which could take longer than on the mac!

Hi Claire. Thanks for visiting my little blog. I must admit that I cheat a little when writing my blog on my iPad. I write it all on the iPad and then move to the computer to sort out any HTML issues and add links etc. But I do love it and I’ve already downloaded lots of useless apps that I’m never going to use. Please let me know if their are any apps that you think are worth downloading? Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Oh I am a huge gossip magazine freak! I used to go to sainsburys every Tuesday to get my fix! I’ve since calmed down a bit, became an unhealthy obsession lol!

I read once that only the most intelligent women read gossip magazines. I may have read it in a gossip magazine. Lol. I used to spend a fortune on them. I definitely had a serious gossip magazine habit! Hugs Mrs H xxxx
