This is week 5 of my Our Weekend Happy post. I’m so proud that I’m still writing these posts. They are now my favourite to write each week. It’s so nice to remind myself of what we did during the weekend. And writing the post starts to build up excitement for the coming weekend.
Anyway, in case you haven’t seen my previous Our Weekend Happy posts, it is based on a weekly post that one of my favourite bloggers, Lisa from Mummascribbles writes. I’ve always loved her posts. And so I decided that I wanted to write something similar.
A couple of weeks ago, Lisa and I launched Our Weekend Happy as a linky and an Instagram hashtag community. And tomorrow we will be hosting week 3 of our brand new linky. We would love you to join us and link up any happy blogs or vlogs about your weekend.
Also, please remember to use the hashtag #ourweekendhappy for any happy weekend Instagram photographs. We plan to do a monthly round-up of our favourite photos from the #ourweekendhappy community. Lisa and I look forward to reading your Our Weekend Happy posts.

A Beautiful Bio Sculpture Manicure
My weekend started early on Friday when I headed to London to attend an event at the Mondrian Hotel with Bio Sculpture, the creators of the original soak-off colour gel nail system. I had to be at the hotel for 10:00 and so I caught a train at 08:00. Thankfully, Mr H had taken the day off work to look after the children and get Little Miss H to and from school.
It was only a ten-minute walk from Waterloo Station to the Mondrian and I still managed to get lost. I eventually found the hotel and I was escorted up to the penthouse suite to meet Claire from Bio Sculpture. Once I entered the room I saw two of my blogging besties – Hannah from Budding Smiles and Chelle from The Daily Life Edit.
But there was no time to chat as we were taken to have our Bio Sculpture Gel Manicure. I chose to have my nails painted with Bio Sculpture’s new range, EVO. EVO Oxygenating Gel is a revolutionary gel that is designed to last for 3 weeks and contains no organic solvents, formaldehyde, DBP or camphor. I chose the colour Kimberley which is part of the Evo Colour Change Collection.
During my manicure, I learnt all about why becoming a Bio Sculpture Gel Technician is a fantastic career for a mother. As once your training has been completed then you are a qualified Bio Sculpture Gel Technician and can start to build a business around your children and family. This can either be based in a salon, from home or you can travel to see your clients in their homes.
A Massage, Me Time and a Yummy Afternoon Tea
The Bio Sculpture Gel Manicure sets in 30 seconds under an LED light. So as soon as the manicure was finished then we were taken down to the spa for a massage. We all got into our slippers and dressing gowns and waited in the lovely relaxation room.
The shoulder, back and neck massage was heavenly. The masseur was quite firm and really attacked the knots and tension in my neck and shoulders. But that was wonderful as I hold a lot of stress and tension in my neck and shoulders. So it was lovely to have that stress soothed away. I was also glad that the masseur was quite firm as it meant that I didn’t fall asleep.
Once the massage was over, I was led back into the relaxation room and wrapped in a warm duvet and given a cup of chamomile tea. I just sat in silence and managed to read some of my book, Big Magic.
I stayed in the Relaxation Room for about twenty minutes and then headed to get changed before heading to a private room in the restaurant. There we ate a yummy afternoon tea and learnt more about Bio Sculpture and how to become a Bio Sculpture Gel Technician.
It was such a lovely day. It is always so nice to be pampered and learn about a fantastic brand. And it was fabulous to see two of my blogging besties. I walked with Chelle and Hannah to their train station. After hugs and goodbyes, I headed back to Waterloo and managed to get on a train immediately.
I arrived home as Mr H was going to pick Little Miss H up from her after-school club. I’m so lucky as Mr H is the most productive person I’ve ever met in my life. He had done the food shopping and put it away. He’d also done some laundry and hung the clothes up to dry. The house was clean and tidy AND he had done all that while managing to keep Little Mister H alive and happy.
Making Vegetable Samosas with Daddy
Once Little Miss H was home she and Daddy started to make dinner together. Last week, they had been watching a cookery programme and they cooked vegetable samosas. Little Miss had asked if she could make them one night for dinner. And so Little Miss H and Mr H, rolled out the pastry, added the filling and shaped the pastry into triangles. And those samosas were amazing.
The kids went to bed after a bath and stories. And then Mr H and I settled down to watch Altered Carbon on Netflix.

A Morning in the Car
The children were up early on Saturday morning. So Mr H took advantage of the early morning and went out for a run. Once Mr H was back from his run and showered, I headed upstairs to pack as we were staying with Grandma and Grandpa for a few days.
We headed off at 10:00 but it wasn’t long before we had to turn back because we had forgotten something. Then Little Miss H announced that she was going to be sick (she gets travel sick) and so we spent some time in the local sports centre car park while she got some fresh air. We were soon back on the road but the rest of the drive was a disaster. The traffic was terrible and we were constantly stopping and starting. This meant that Little Mister H wouldn’t sleep and so he was very grumpy. Little Miss H still felt very sick and we were very lucky to survive the journey without her vomiting.
Staying with Grandma and Grandpa
We eventually arrived at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. We ate lunch and then settled down to play with the toys at Grandma and Grandpa’s house (all my old Sylvanian Family toys, Sindy dolls and classic Fisher Price toys). Little Mister H loves playing with the Fisher Price garage. It is lovely watching my children play with toys that are over 40 years old. Classic toys that my brothers and I loved as children.
I did some reading with Little Miss H and then both Little Miss and Little Mister H had their dinner and went to bed. Once they were asleep, my Dad opened a bottle of prosecco and we had pizza for dinner. We then all settled in the living room and watched some of the film Monument Men.

A lazy Sunday morning
Once again, the children were awake early and so Mr H headed off for an early run. As soon as Grandma was awake, I headed back to bed for an hour. The rest of the morning was very lazy. We spent the morning playing with toys. At one point, Mr H took Little Miss H and Little Mister outside to play in my parent’s garden. But it was so cold that it wasn’t long before Little Miss H was asking to go back inside.
A Roast Dinner and Cinderella
It wasn’t long before we were sitting down to a very tasty roast dinner followed by apple crumble and custard. Yummy! Mr H left to drive home shortly after lunch, as the children and I were going to stay at Grandma and Grandpa’s house for a couple of extra days. o distract him we put the live action version of Cinderella on the TV. It is a lovely film. Perfect Sunday afternoon viewing.
The children were both exhausted and so we gave them a quick picnic tea and put them to bed early. I did some blogging work while Mum and Dad watched Call the Midwife and McMafia. And that was our weekend happy.
Did you have a lovely weekend? If you’ve written about it then please remember to link up to the brand Our Weekend Happy linky (it will be live tomorrow).
I was invited to the Bio Sculpture event and in return, I’ve been asked to write about how becoming a Bio Sculpture Technician can be an ideal career move for a mother. However, as always all words and opinions are 100% my own.
