Anyone who follows me on Twitter or Facebook will know that Little Miss H doesn’t sleep.
At all.
Ever!
We have tried everything to help her to sleep better. But nothing has worked.
So I was thrilled when I was contacted by the lovely people from the Gro Company and asked to review one of their baby sleep bags. I hoped that this would be our saviour and would solve all our sleep problems.
Grobag – baby sleep bag
We were sent a 2.5 tog Grobag for ages 18-36 months in the cute Bunny and Brolly design. This baby sleep bag is also available in 1.0 tog and in sizes 0-6 months and 6-18 months.

The 2.5 tog is perfect for us as Little Miss H’s nursery is generally between 18 and 20°C. To make sure that Little Miss doesn’t get too hot or too cold she wears her Grobag over a long-sleeved sleepsuit or pyjamas.
Do we love the Grobag baby sleep bag?
Yes, yes, YES! The Grobag has finally brought the gift of sleep to our house. I can’t tell you how happy this makes us.
Before using the Grobag we would often be up for hours during the night trying to resettle Little Miss H. This had taken its toll.
Little Miss H now goes to bed between 18.30 and 19.00 and sleeps until after 06.00. We have only had a few disturbed nights since using the Grobag and these have been due to illness or teething. (I’ve probably jinxed us now, haven’t I?)
The gift of sleep is amazing but there are many other reasons why the Grobag is absolutely fabulous:
- It is safe. Each Grobag meets the new British safety standards. The Gro Company works closely with the Lullaby Trust (formerly The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths, FSID) and the Grobag was created as a safe alternative to sheets and blankets. The Grobag is The Lullaby Trust’s recommended sleep bag.
- Once on the Grobag won’t come off unless Mr H or I take it off. This means that we don’t have to worry about blankets covering Little Miss H’s head during the night.
- The Grobag ensures that Little Miss remains a constant temperature all night. There is no need to worry that she will kick her blankets off and get cold.
- The Grobag comes with a free nursery thermometer and a handy guide on what babies should wear to bed. As a new mum I struggled to know what to dress Little Miss in at night. This handy guide does all the work for you. If you know the temperature of their nursery then you can easily work out what clothes to dress baby in at bedtime.
- It is very easy to put on. Little Miss H will now go over to the Grobag and lie down on it so that we can zip her in. It has become an important part of her bedtime routine.
- The zip on the Grobag means it is easy to do night-time nappy changes without having to remove the sleep bag.
- Little Miss finds it harder to manoeuvre when wearing her Grobag. This hopefully means that she will struggle to climb out of her cot.
- The Grobag is 100% cotton and doesn’t irritate Little Miss H’s sensitive skin.
- The zip is concealed so we don’t have to worry about it catching on anything during the night.
- It is easy to wash and can be tumble-dryed on a low heat. I spilt some Calpol on Little Miss H’s Grobag but this came out in a normal 40°C wash.
- I adore the design of this baby sleep bag. It is so cute.
- Little Miss H likes wearing her Grobag and she does look adorable in it.
What we don’t love about the Grobag baby sleep bag?
I can’t actually think of anything I didn’t like about the Grobag. In fact, I am now going to go online and buy another so that we don’t have to resort to blankets whilst this Grobag is in the wash.
Do you have a Grobag baby sleep bag? If so, I’d love to know what you think.
Hugs
Mrs H

February 25, 2015 at 6:28 pmOh you must be so pleased!! Baby L decided she didn’t like hers a while back and now spends all night waking up cold!! I might try her in one again and see if it helps her x

March 5, 2015 at 8:16 amDo try it again. We used one when Little Miss H was very young and she also decided that it wasn’t for her. But she now seems to love it and is sleeping. Which is amazing. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

February 24, 2015 at 9:25 pmAww she’s such a cutie! Our Little Miss loves her bag too – she has two, so she doesn’t go without when we wash it. It’s true! Once you take away the gro bag – the sleep stops!
A worthy investment xxx

March 5, 2015 at 8:17 amThanks for commenting lovely. Isn’t it mad, that you take away the Grobag and the sleep stops?! We have now bought another so that this doesn’t happen whilst we are washing one of the baby sleeping bags. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

February 23, 2015 at 9:43 pmOh yes we love the Grobag too! We have a few now. We’ve tried lots of different sleep sacks and the Grobag is by far the best – they have some nice features like the shoulder snaps on the smaller sizes and some of them have a travel zip as well – so you can use in a car seat etc. They are also much better quality than other sleep sacks I have tried – and like you say, cute designs!
I also love that they come in sizes up to 6-10 years old – which is fab if you have older children who still use them, or just tall kids. Our tall 2 year old is already in the 3-6 year old size! I have nothing to do with Grobag btw, just have a sleep sack obsession, he he! – Glad you have discovered them too!

March 5, 2015 at 8:24 amHa ha… thanks for your fab comment. We have also tried other baby sleeping bags and I would have to agree that they all fall short of the Grobag. The Grobag just ticks all the boxes in my book. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

March 5, 2015 at 8:26 amHa ha! Thanks for your comment lovely. I would love a Grobag for myself too. I think some designs come in sizes up to 10 years. I also love the look of the duvet covers that they have for kids who have moved into a bed. They look genius. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

February 23, 2015 at 1:38 pmOh no…for some reason I had no idea you had a sleep problem – I would have told you to buy one aaaaaages ago! Zach hated blankets with a passion and still does to be fair although he loves his duvet now. We used grobags up until a couple of months ago and he slept so much better in them. He’s taken to his duvet really well but I was really worried I’d be in there every five minutes covering him back up but luckily that hasn’t been the case! I will definitely use grobags from birth for any following babies! So glad you are getting some sleep!! #weekendbloghop

March 5, 2015 at 8:29 amHello lovely and thanks for your comment. You weren’t to know that sleep was a huge issue. We thought we had tried everything and because Little Miss H had gone off the Grobag when she was younger we thought that it wasn’t worth trying again. How wrong we were. Just think of all the sleep I could have had if we had moved to using the grobag months ago. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

February 23, 2015 at 11:21 amBoth of my girls loved their growbags! They did not like blankets at all. They used to wake up because their blankets had fallen off. With M they were ideal because they kept her feel warm where blankets didn’t. I am glad your all sleeping better now 🙂

March 5, 2015 at 8:30 amHi. Thanks for your comment. I imagine that Little Miss H was getting cold feet and that is why she kept on waking up. The Grobag has been a wonderful and sleepy revelation. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
