Finding Happiness

Happy Days – Sunday 01.02.2015

It is  time to link up with Happy Days hosted by the lovely Jenna and Katy.  It is a brilliant linky and I am sad that I have failed to link up over the past few weeks. February is going to be the month that I get organised and join in with this linky every week. No excuses!

Out & about

I hate to stay indoors all the time. Even if the weather is rubbish I like to wrap up and head outside for some fresh air and (hopefully) Vitamin D. We mostly walk everywhere or get the bus as I absolutely loathe driving and refuse to do it. This does mean that I get exercise pushing the buggy up all the hills around Rochester.

Last Sunday we put our wellie boots on and headed to a local park to jump in some muddy puddles.  Mr H (who isn’t keen on mess) winced every time we went near some mud but Little Miss H and I had a lovely time.

Happy Days

We go to the little play park up the road a few times a week. Little Miss H loves playing on swings and going down slides. I adore watching her giggle as I push her on the swing. It is very cute!

We headed off to the park on a particularly grey and miserable morning this week and had the whole place to ourselves. Little Miss H was thrilled that she did not have to share her slide time with any other toddlers.

Happy Days

Fun at home

We have been quite lazy at home this week. I have been fighting off a headache and have found it difficult to motivate myself. I’m a bad mummy, I know! But we have spent time cuddling on the sofa, reading books, playing with puzzles, watching “Tangled” and enjoying tea parties with all the cuddly toys.

Happy Days

Time for me

Mr H is wonderful and he often looks after Little Miss so that I can have a day to myself. Last Saturday was one of these days. I headed off into London to see my dearest friend Miss W. We met at the Gilbert Scott Cocktail Bar and Brasserie at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel for brunch. It was amazing. It was the most delicious breakfast that I have ever eaten.

Happy Days

We then hopped in a taxi to the Palladium and went to see “Cats the Musical”. I saw “Cats” when I was 13 and I couldn’t remember much about the show. I really enjoyed it. I was impressed with Nicole Scherzinger too. She has a gorgeous, soulful and powerful voice and her rendition of “Memory” actually sent a shiver down my spine.

It was a fabulous day. I got to see my oldest and dearest friend and have a proper gossip and catch up. I got to eat an AMAZING breakfast (which I felt was highly deserved as I had been to bootcamp earlier that morning). And I got to see a brilliant musical.

My happiest moment

My happiest moments from this week have been spent with my husband. We went on a date night to a local Thai restaurant on Thursday. It was great to be able to dress up and go out with my gorgeous Mr H. We talked about the plans we have for this year, about his new job and my blog. And we laughed and laughed.

On Friday we had a blackout night. I stole the idea from Kate at What Katy Said. We turned off our devices and sat down at the table to have dinner together. Then we settled down on the sofa and watched a film.

I am addicted to my iPhone and I’m constantly checking Twitter, Facebook or all the other social networks that I’ve joined. For one evening it was wonderful to forget about all that and enjoy being with my husband. We plan to make it a weekly occurrence.

Next week I would like to try

Next week I want to try to get myself organised. I was hugely organised before I became a mum but I am now hopeless. I barely know what is going on from one minute to the next.

I need to start writing more lists. But these lists need to be realistic as I often write a list of unachievable tasks. I need to use my diary more so I don’t forget important dates or miss sending birthday cards.

I also need to become more focused and organised about blogging. I am a real faffer! Especially when it comes to my blogging. This needs to stop as it can mean that one post can take me hours and hours to write. My post from last week about the NSPCC #ShareAware campaign took me almost 5 hours to write! It doesn’t help that I am a perfectionist and I will check, double check and triple check a post before pressing publish.

I have bought myself a brand new blog planner which I am sure will be a huge help. I am also going to take note of all these fabulous tips from Aby at You Baby Me Mummy. Aby’s blog is awesome and she is my blogging guru. Sensei Aby, I will follow your lead and use your tricks to become a more effective blogger. I promise.

What has been your happiest moment from the past week? Do you have any exciting plans for next week?

Awwww, lovely, Sarah. Thank you for your gorgeous comment. You are too kind. I think Little Miss H looks very cute in her wet weather gear too. Sadly, that puddle suit is now too small. This makes me sad. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Loving the photos of little miss. Even from behind, you can tell she’s overjoyed that the park is empty!
I’d love to do a blackout day for everyone in this house, but I fear we would all be jibbering messes after an hour or two lol.
Thanks for linking up to #SundayStars xxx

Ha ha! I love the idea of you all being jibbering messes after an hour or two of blackout. There is no denying it is hard. But Mr H and I have had some lovely evenings chatting or snuggling on the sofa. That has definitely been worth the occasional withdrawal shakes. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Sounds like a wonderful week huni (apart from the headache). I am so glad you got to see your friend and have a date night. Black out night sounds like a good idea, but I think I would get the shakes! 😉 Thanks so much for mentioning my blog/posts it is very kind of you. Wax on Wax off! xxxxx

I need to take a leaf out of Kate’s book and have blackout nights too.

Your me-time sounds sha-mazing (said in the style of nicole sherzinger)

I want to get organised too, just need to organise the time to get organised.

I’m so happy you’ll be joining in with our Happy Days Linky every week. Yay!

What a lovely week! You really made the most of your me time. 🙂 My mum-in-law saw Cats on Friday and she thought it was fantastic.

I’m a bit of a blog faffer too. I really have to be in the right mood to write a post so more often than not they don’t get written. I hope your lovely new blog planner helps you to become more organised. I’m off to check out Aby’s tips!

Hi Vickie. Thanks for your lovely comment. Sadly, I am still quite a blog faffer. But I am definitely better than I was. Give me a few centuries and I might even get to a stage where i schedule posts in advance. My head spins just thinking about it. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

I am very jealous that you had some me time watching Cats, I would love to go and see it. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that faf’s over a post, I take ages to write, edit I don’t get as many posts out as I would like..I need to work on that! Love the photo of Little Miss in the puddle, she looks like she’s having a fab time!

Thanks for your comment. I promise that you are not the only one to faf over writing a post. It drives my husband mad. But I like my posts to perfect and if I have done less than that then I am not happy. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

I think I know Tangeld line from line too. And secretly, I don’t mind that because I love it too. And if it keeps Little Miss H occupied for an hour or two then that is brillant. Thanks for your comment. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
