Vlog Club – My Top Five Beauty Products

A logo for our Vlog club_a film clapper board with the title Vlog club_this post is my top five favourite books_mrs H's favourite things

Hello and welcome to the first month of Vlog Club.

Beauty products

I wouldn’t count myself as a vlogger. I have only made one other vlog.

I would like to dip my toe a little further into the vlogging world but it takes a lot of courage to talk into a camera. I was chatting to my blogging buddies and it became clear that a few of us felt the same.

We decided that it would be easier to vlog regularly if we set ourselves a theme. And so the idea behind Vlog Club and sharing our Top Fives was born. The theme will change every month and August’s theme is My top five beauty products. Do pop back in September for my top five chick flicks!

Each member of the Vlog Club will send you off to watch another one of our videos. This month, I was tagged by the stunning Caro from The Twinkle Diaries and I am tagging Jenna from Tinyfootsteps.

Pour yourself a cup of tea, grab a biscuit, get comfy on the sofa and go and watch the other videos! To make things super easy for you, I have created a YouTube playlist which contains all of this month’s Vlog Clubbers videos.

My top five beauty products

I love makeup and beauty products. I can spend hours devouring beauty articles in magazines. And before I became a mother, I could lose days emerged in a world of Lisa Eldridge and Sali Hughes videos.

It was almost impossible to decide on only five products (and as you can see I was a little naughty and snuck an extra product at the end). But these are the products that I use daily. They help me feel put together and ready to face the world.

Beauty products

Sunscreen for the face – Ultrasun Family SPF 30; UltraSun Face SPF 50+ for ultra sensitive skin and Eucerin Sun Creme SPF 50+.

CC CreamLa Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Cream.

Eyeshadow – L’Oréal Paris no longer makes these eyeshadows. Sob. But the L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Monos in 201 Café St Germain and 200 Over the Taupe are very similar shades and would look gorgeous on anyone with blue, green or grey eyes.

Lipstick –Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butter. I am afraid that some of the shades in the video aren’t correct. Instead, the red that I am wearing in the vlog is called Candy Apple. The pink Lip Butter is Sweet Tart. I also have a light pink shade called Cotton Candy and finally the last shade is Berry Smoothie.

Hair styling toolBabyliss Big Hair 50mm. If you do buy a Babyliss Big Hair then do watch the fabulous video that Sali Hughes made for her On Beauty series in the Guardian newspaper.

Extra bonus product – Vaseline Lip Therapy Original.

I hope that you enjoyed the video. If you did then please remember to give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my YouTube Channel.

Also, if you vlog, or would like to give it a try and would like to join our vlogging club then you can email any of us and we will send you the details. We would love to have you join us!

What would be in your top five beauty products?

Thanks for your lovely comment honey. I love red lippy. I find it perks me right up on a grey and miserable day (weather and mood). I think you should have got Babyliss shares. I know lots of people who have bought the Big Hair because of my recommendation. And they all rave about it too. Vlog Club is so much fun. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

This is SO fun isn’t it?! 5 things every month seems very manageable — I don’t like seeing myself talking when I play it back but I REALLY enjoy the whole process now! Particularly since I cracked the editing software! 🙂 Love seeing you talking on your film — well done lovely!!

Okay, Lucy that big hair thing sounds awesome!! I need that in my life now!!! It’s just what I need for my hair, which has no volume at the root. I’m so glad we’ve started out little vlog club and that we can all do this together. Hugs from another Mrs H xxx
