Back in August, I shared my first official vlog. It was a very scary thing to do.

Making and editing the video took me out of my comfort zone. But it is good to step out of your comfort zone now and again.

I surprised myself! I actually enjoyed the whole process of producing a vlog.

And so, I am back with my second vlog. Once again, I am taking part in Vlog Club and this month’s prompt is to share my top five favourite books.

It has been almost impossible to limit it to just five books. I love reading and before becoming a mum I used to read a book a week. There is so much wonderful literature out there that I love. And there were many other books that I could have included in this list.

If you are looking for some book recommendations, if you want to laugh at my attempt to sound clever or disguise my hoarse voice then please have a look at my video.

Also, if you enjoyed watching then please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my YouTube Channel. I am feeling a little lonely over there so please pop over and say “hi”!

October’s Vlog Club – My top five favourite books

 The books

  1. A Summer to Die by Lois Lowry
  2. The Green Mile by Stephen King
  3. The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
  4. The Loving Spirit by Daphne Du Maurier
  5. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Would any of these books be included in your top five? I would love to hear in the comments.

Vlog Club is a monthly link up where myself and other vloggers all share a video of our Top Five (the theme changes every month) – and then we all share our videos through the link tool below.

If you vlog (or fancy starting) and would like to join our club, you can email any of us or you can simply request to join the Vlog Club Facebook page.

We would love to have you join us.

The Loving Spirit is just amazing isn’t it?! I just adore the thought of that wild spirit being passed down from one generation to the next. I’ve never read The Green Mile but I have seen the movie and it’s just amazing, so I can only imagine how it all plays out on a page – even better I’m sure. Also, To Kill a Mockingbird so almost made it to my top 5 too. Such a beautiful book! Great roundup xx

Thanks lovely. It sounds like you and I have a very similar taste in literature. I think you would love The Poisonwood Bible. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Save for the last one I haven’t actually read any of these so I have added them to my list!

Love this! When I start vlogging (a 2016 ambition), I’ll hope to join in! Both To Kill A Mockingbird & The Poisonwood Bible would be in contention for me.

Thanks for your lovely comment, Clare. I am really enjoying vlogging. Which I am surprised about. It is nice to have an easy prompt to talk about – such as “favourite books”. I am so glad that you like my choices. The Poisonwood Bible is an amazing book. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
