Little Miss H has an amazing imagination and is brilliant at independent play. She happily bounces around her room pretending to be a mermaid, princess, Octonaut or superhero. She pretends that her My Little Pony toys are in trouble and that she needs to leap to their rescue
In fact, only this morning she was Super Princess Mermaid Ariel and she had to rescue Rainbow Dash. Who had got stuck down a crevice (the side of Mummy and Daddy’s bed).
“Awwww, poor Rainbow Dash. Don’t be sad. Super Princess Mermaid Ariel will rescue you.”
She gets really absorbed in this pretend play and it is adorable. It often means that any adults around have to spend hours with a blanket cape wrapped around them or being given medical check-ups. And Mr H and I are no longer allowed to refer to ourselves as Mummy and Daddy. We are Cinderella and Belle (ha ha – poor Mr H)! Little Miss H is Snow White and her baby brother has recently been named Rapunzel.
#VertbaudetHeroes – our superhero
When Vertbaudet asked me if Little Miss H wanted to enter their competition #VertbaudetHeroes, I knew that it would be perfect for our imaginative daughter.
#VertbaudetHeroes wants to encourage children to use their imagination and creativity to design and craft their own secret superhero identity. By making their very own superhero costume our children will learn that they can express themselves fully in their everyday adventures.
Mr H and I are keen that our children learn to be themselves at all times. And we want them to know that they can be whatever they want to be. Even a superhero!
Little Miss H is Super Skye, the pinktastic superhero
Little Miss H was very excited when I told her that we were going to turn her into a superhero. She was adamant that she wanted to be Skye, the flying female cockapoo from PAW Patrol.
Little Miss has recently discovered PAW Patrol and it is safe to say that she is obsessed. And she especially loves Skye and her little pink outfit and helicopter. All superheroes should fly and wear pink.
We headed upstairs and raided Little Miss H’s wardrobe and dressing up box. But she doesn’t have many pink clothes (apart from a Sleeping Beauty costume) as I first thought. And we were very limited on costume choices.
In the end Super Skye was created. The costume consisted of a cut off pair of pink leggings, a pink tutu, a vest top, a blanket as a cape and a feathery headband. I then put Little Miss H’s in bunches to resemble cockapoo ears.
We headed out into the garden for Super Skye to head off on her first superhero mission.
Super Skye planning the best course of action for her rescue mission.
Super Skye checking to see if the weather is suitable for flying.
Super Skye mentally preparing herself for the rescue mission.
And we’re off! The rescue mission is go.
Post mission debrief.
The #VertbaudetHeroes competition is open to the public. The prize is a £250 family trip for 4 to the UK attraction of your choosing and £200 in Vertbaudet vouchers.
To enter share a photo of your little one wearing their very own superhero costume via Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #VertbaudetHeroes. Or you can upload a photograph to their Facebook page. Full details of the competition and the terms and conditions can be found on the Vertbaudet blog.
The competition ends on 12th September and after that a winner will be chosen at random.
Good luck.
