Our June 2017 bucket list

How can we possibly be at the end of the third day of June already? This year is zooming by. And I’m certain that since having Little Mister H I have entered into a parallel universe where time moves twice as fast.

May was a wonderful month. It was the month Little Miss H turned four. And we seemed very busy.

I’ve got a feeling that June is going to be a fabulous month too.

And it’s already off to a brilliant start. As on Thursday,  I went to the launch of the Diono UK Quantum Travel System. It was a fabulous night. Not only did I get to see DJ Sara Cox playing Wham songs but I also got to meet some of my favourite blogging friends – Hannah from Budding Smiles, Kerry from All about a mini Norris and Al from The Dad Network.

We’ve got more exciting plans for the rest of June. And so I thought that I’d share with you what is on our bucket list for June 2017.

“June is bustin’ out all over

All over the meadow and the hill!

We’re very lucky that my parents are taking us to Broadstairs for a week. And we’ll be staying in a lovely town house near to the beach.

My brother and his family will be there for a few days too. So Little Miss and Little Mister H will be able to play with their cousins. Which I know they’ll love. Especially Little Miss who adores her big cousins. Hopefully, the weather will be fabulous and we’ll be able to have picnics on the beach and play among the rock pools.

My Mum and Dad have also very kindly offered to babysit. Which means Mr H and I will have at least one date night. We haven’t been to the cinema in ages, so I would like to take a trip to see a film. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Days out

Every month we make sure that we have at least one family day out planned and written in stone. This month we’re going to go to the Riverhill Himilayan Gardens which look beautiful and promises some of the most stunning views of Kent. I am sure that Little Miss H will love the adventure playground and there is a maze there too.

Then tomorrow we’re off to Blackheath to see Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy at In the Night Garden Live. There are two shows to choose from and we are going to see the Pinky Ponk show (which I’m very pleased about as I’ve always thought that the Ninky Nonk is a complete health hazard and needs to be decommissioned  as a mode of transport).

According to the website

“In the Pinky Ponk show, Makka Pakka washes everyone’s faces, until his sponge gets stuck in Upsy Daisy’s megaphone!”

It is going to be very exciting. I just hope that Little Miss H likes it, as she can be quite hit and miss with these type of events. Look out for the review of the show soon.


The mess in our house is driving Mr H and I mad. I’m constantly tidying but I’m also continuously apologising about the state of the house to Mr H or anyone who visits. And I’ve had enough.

Tidy house. Tidy mind.

I NEED to declutter.

This is going to be top of my to-do list when Little Miss H is back at preschool next week. I definitely need to tackle her room first. She was lucky to receive loads of fabulous presents for her birthday a few weeks ago. But I want to make sure that they all have a home in her room as at the  moment they are strewn across her Kallax.

Health kick

Since the beginning of this year I’ve not felt great. My depression and anxiety have been taunting me and I’ve felt sluggish, lacking in energy and just generally “Bleurgh”.

I’ve suddenly become aware that I am going to be 40 years old next year. And although I really don’t care about the age I can’t deny that I’m getting older. I can’t keep pretending that I don’t need to look after my health.

So at the end of May I started a health kick. I’m trying to exercise most days, restrict the amount of alcohol I’m drinking, cut down on sugar and sugary snacks and eat three healthy meals a day. I’ve been following this for a week now and feel so much better. I will definitely be continuing with these small changes over this month.

    Well done on the health kick, I so need to get back on the bender with the exercise bike.

    Loads of great goals for the month ahead. I really need to do some major decluttering and take better care of myself too. Good luck with everything x

      Thanks so much Alana. I’m already seeing such a difference to how I feel. And I’ve only made small changes. It just shows that you really don’t need radical diets or hard core exercise plans. Have a lovely June. Hugs Lucy xxxx
