Back in July, The Natural Family Co (NFco) launched a Natural Oral Care range featuring toothpaste and toothbrushes. This Australian company was developed by Justin and Rachel Bernhaut, the founders of Jack N’ Jill Natural Care. Jack N’ Jill have been a trusted leader in children’s natural oral care for over 40 years. So it seems only right that they’ve begun to design a range to be used by the whole family.
“We are always looking for new ways to work with nature and use the best it has to offer to create great effective products. We hope that our new range will get people to rethink their oral care habits and realize that this simple switch can be good for them, their families and their world!”
Rachel Bernhaut, Co-founder of NFco.
Natural Oral Care For The Whole Family From The Natural Family Co. (NFco)
We were kindly sent four toothbrushes and two tubes of toothpaste from the Natural Family Co. (NFco) to review.
Bio toothbrushes
The bio toothbrushes are made from Non-GMO Cornstarch and come in four colours that are designed to complement the toothpaste. We were sent a twin pack of toothbrushes (in cream and pale green) and two toothbrushes in resin bases (in green and grey). I really like the simple designs of these toothbrushes and the neutral shades mean that they will coordinate with any bathroom.
I have to say that I love these toothbrushes. For me, they are the best part of the NFco‘s natural oral care range. I have very sensitive gums and many toothbrushes can aggravate them and cause them to bleed. But these NFco toothbrushes are beautifully soft and they’ve never hurt my gums. And they also provide excellent cleaning power.
It’s a sad fact that non-biodegradable toothbrushes fill landfills around the world. Yet, the toothbrushes created by the NFco are completely biodegradable. Therefore, using them is not only kinder to your teeth and gums but also to the environment.
The toothpaste
NFco toothpaste is available in four varieties which means there is a type for every member of your family. This gel formula is available in Original, Sensitive, Whitening and Propolis & Myrrh. They clean effectively without relying on artificial chemicals, sweeteners and preservatives. Instead, they use Xylitol to deliver cavity protection.
Australian Native River Mint is the inspiration and basis of all four varieties of NFco toothpaste. Justin and Rachel Bernhaut wanted their toothpaste to include a botanical that tasted clean and fresh and that represented many aspects of Australian life. This wild mint has a fresh minty and natural taste that I love. And it really leaves my mouth and breath feeling fresh and clean.
It’s really important to me to know that my family are using products that are natural and safe. Not only for them but also for the environment. That is why the natural oral care range from NFco is so brilliant. You can rest assured that NFco‘s toothpaste and toothbrushes are naturally sourced and haven’t been tested on animals. The packaging is biodegradable, compostable and earth-friendly. And the toothpaste is free of fluoride, SLS, Parabens and harsh chemicals.

November 30, 2017 at 12:40 pmThis is the only toothpaste out there that doesn’t wreck my sensitive mouth. For some reason, all store brand toothpastes I’ve ever tried, cause the skin on the inside of my cheeks to peel off. This is the only one that does not. The toothpaste is refreshing, (almost) all of the ingredients sound benign, and most importantly it doesn’t wreck my mouth.
