I am sorry that I have missed the past 2 weeks of Love the Little Things. I was having a little holiday from blogging. But today I’m back, ready for action and linking up with But why mummy why for this week’s #littleloves:
I have mostly been catching up on my blog reading this week. I still never have the time to read or comment on all the blogs that I would like to. However, I recently discovered a new blog that I love.
Underneath the elephant is fabulous. The posts are sometimes funny and sometimes serious but always beautifully written. This tale about saying goodbye to a much loved but worn out piece of furniture almost had me in tears: Worn and torn, ‘so long’ the step-family friend.
I”ve been watching the BBC drama “In the club”. It is about a group of pregnant women who meet in an ante-natal class and become close friends. It has a wonderful cast and has been written by the brilliant Kay Mellor. If you like compelling drama then I highly recommend it. However, if you are just about to give birth it is probably one to avoid!
One of the things that has shocked me most about the way I parent is that I love baby wearing. My Lenny Lamb woven wrap has been our most useful baby purchase. It is also beautiful and allows me to have extra cuddles with my darling daughter.
The other day we travelled into London and I wore Little Miss H for the first time in months. I realised how much I’d missed wrapping her over the summer. As always she fell asleep pretty much as soon as she was in the wrap, which made the negotiation of trains and tubes much easier.
I really want to try and master carrying Little Miss on my back. I know that she would prefer this as she will be able to have a good nose at everything going on around her. All our practices at doing a back carry have failed. I am too clumsy and Little Miss is far too fidgety.
My only option is to invest in another form of carrier (such a shame?!). The problem is that I am spoilt for choice. There are so many beautiful wraps and carriers out there that I am struggling to chose which one to buy. Dilemmas, dilemmas, dilemmas!
I recently played Little Miss H one of my all time favourite tracks. We had a wonderful time singing and dancing wildly to Andy William’s “Can’t take my eyes off you”. Tuuunnneee.
We’ve also been listening to a lot of Kate Bush in honour of her Hammersmith Apollo gigs. Her music is completely barmy but pure genius. This is one of my fave tracks.
I made the most amazing cookies in the world. They are quadruple chocolate morsels of gorgeous gooeyness. They were devoured by my yummy mummy friends and Mr H’s work colleagues. They officially ended my diet.
Mr H is babysitting tomorrow so that I can go shopping to Bluewater. Thanks Mr H. I am a very lucky lady and I promise not to spend too much money. Hee hee hee!
Have you had a nice week? It was the last week of the summer holidays so I hope you did something fun. I’d love to hear all about it.
