The time has come to unveil my new blog design. Welcome to the new and improved Mrs H’s favourite things.
Having been to Blogfest in early November, I decided that my blog was looking jaded and needed a refresh. It paled in comparison to other blogs and it wasn’t portraying the right impression. I also wanted to have more control and own the copyright of my posts and photos. I had been thinking of moving to a self-hosted WordPress blog for a while but found the idea daunting. Blogfest gave me the courage to take the plunge.
I knew that I didn’t have the time, knowledge or inclination to do the design and transfer myself. I had also heard horror stories of the problems faced by other bloggers when they had tried to manage everything on their own. That was not for me!
I spent a month searching through the web and looking for someone I could trust with my little project. Eventually, I came across Jo at Geek Fairy. I loved the designs that she had produced for other bloggers. But the thing that appealed most was that her designs were varied, clean and fresh.
I emailed her and got a very quick response. Jo was able to manage the whole project herself. This was the clincher and a few days later she began the work on my new blog.
Jo was amazing. She took my vague creative brief and has produced a blog that I love. It is a perfect Christmas present and I am delighted that I am able to finally share it with you, my dear readers.
I would love to know what you think. I really hope you love the new blog design as much as I do. Have you seen the new logo? Isn’t it the cutest thing ever?

Love the new blog design. Well done! Doing anything major to your blog is really daunting. I know that I need to make mine a bit more professional, sleek and evocative of me but I need to figure out how best to do it.
