This is my sixth week joining in with the gorgeous Heledd over at Running in Lavender and her linky, My Captured Moment. The idea is simply to share photographs that have captured a special moment in my life. A moment to treasure and remember forever.
My Captured Moment – Some enchanted evening
We went to the island of Meeru in the Maldives for our honeymoon. It was paradise!
We didn’t do much when we were there. We slept; we read; we lay on the beach or in hammocks; Mr H tried and failed (yet again) to teach me how to play chess; we swam in the beautiful sea; we ate amazing food; we drank far too many brightly coloured cocktails.
The greatest activity took place at sunset each evening. I would throw on a kaftan or sun dress and we would take a gentle 30 minute stroll around the island.
But then one evening we did something different. Mr H had arranged a special treat.
We went on a romantic sunset cruise for two.
We hopped on a little catamaran with our skipper and a bottle of champagne and headed into the Indian Ocean. It was beautiful. Breathtaking.
At one point, we came across a pod of pilot whales. They were gentle and amazing creatures. They swam under the boat. They even swam right up to me. I could reach out and stroke them. They stayed splashing around us for a few minutes and then they swam off into the sunset.
Sitting here in bed with the wind howling outside, I look at this photograph and instantly I am transported to that little boat. It was a moment I will never forget. It was magical. It was one enchanted evening.
Hugs

February 22, 2015 at 1:06 pmAaaah what a LOVELY memory!! It all sounds heavenly — apart from the boat bit!! I suffer really badly with travel sickness, so boats and I don’t get on! It makes me a little bit sad because I love the sea. Sounds like you had such a beautiful time! X #SundayStars

March 1, 2015 at 7:49 pmHa ha – honey! It was really calm but I think sea sickness would have ruined the very romantic moment. Thanks for your lovely comment. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

February 21, 2015 at 1:48 pmThe whole holiday sounds bliss, I bet you could dedicate a whole series of captured moments. My hubs is not romantic at all so I always have real romance envy when reading things like this, not that I’d ever deny anyone else it! Popping over from the weekend blog hop.
