Finding Happiness

My monthly bucket list – March 2015

bucket list

I used to be really organised. At work, I was often mocked for my colour coded notebooks and beautiful spreadsheets.

Somehow, whilst giving birth to Little Miss H I lost all of these skills. They disappeared. Scarpered. Vamoosed.

I feel like I lost something very special in my life. And I need to find it again. So to quote a famous song by Lisa Stansfield:

“Been around the world and I, I, I, I can’t find my baby

I don’t know when, I don’t know why, why he’s gone away

And I don’t know where he can be, my baby

But I’m gonna find him.”

I am recruiting you, my dear readers, to assist me along this journey. I have decided to join in with the Monthly Bucket List linky hosted by the fabulous Twinderelmo so that you can see my aims and chastise me if I fail to accomplish anything during March. I am hoping that this will motivate me to find my organisational mojo again and be reunited with my baby.

bucket list

My March bucket list

Toddler Sense. We’re going back to our Toddler Sense class after the half term break. Little Miss H is 21 months old now and I thought it was about time that she graduated to the group for older children. It might involve some bumps and bruises but I am sure that she will love it.

Quality time playing with Little Miss H. I want to do more craft, baking, sensory and messy play with Little Miss H. I am going to scour Pinterest to get lots of ideas of activities we can do together. I’ll also be pinching some ideas from Kat at Beau Twins and her post Cheap or Free Activities For Toddlers.

Tidy the chest of drawers in Little Miss H’s nursery. This will include going through all Little Miss H’s clothes and packaging up a bundle to hand in to aĀ  Jojo Maman Bebe store in support of their From a Mother to Another campaign.

Dentist appointment. Little Miss H and I are overdue an appointment. March is finally going to be the month when I book an appointment for the both of us.

Mr H and I are having a night away. In a few weeks, Little Miss H is staying with her Nanna and Grampy and we are spending a night away in London. We’re going out for a meal, to the theatre and then we are staying in a hotel. I am so excited about a lie-in and the chance to have breakfast in bed with the Sunday papers.

Date night. We haven’t been to the cinema in ages. I am hoping that there will be a film on in the cinema that we would both like to watch.

Carry on exercising. The Tough Mumma boot camp I attend on Saturday mornings is continuing through March. I love it. I am enjoying exercising again, getting out in the fresh air and meeting some lovely local mums. I am also going to a yoga class every Thursday evening and a good friend and I are considering going to a spinning class once a week.

Watch my diet. I have cut down on cake and sugary food since the beginning of the year but I know my diet could still be much better.

Juice every day. Annoyingly our juicer is a pain to use and an even bigger pain to clean but I do feel so much better for having a glass of fresh juice every day. It is cleansing and an excellent way to get some of my 5 a day.

Become more organised. I need to write manageable to-do-lists and tick off the jobs on those lists. Otherwise, those unused lists just occupy valuable and much sought after notebook space. This makes me sad.

Have the chop. I desperately need to get my hair cut as it hasn’t had a trim in months. I am contemplating copying the beautiful Jess from Mummy of Boy Girl Twins and having a long bob. Sorry Jess. Single white female alert.

Sprucing up the flat. We’re hoping that by the summer we will have sold our flat and bought a house. But before we can do that, Little Miss H and I are going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for a few days so that Mr H can get on with some decorating.

Location, location, location. We are going to start visiting some towns and villages that we might like to move to and have a look at some houses in these locations. Cue hours spent on Right Move and Zoopla lusting over houses.

Blogging/ life balance. I need to develop a better blogging and life balance. Importantly I need to make sure that I am not blogging until the early hours of the morning. But I am getting into bed to go to sleep by 23.30 at the latest.

Blogging developments. One of my best blogging pals and I are looking into a few ways that we can work together. These include a new linky. We have plenty of ideas. We just need to actually put them into practice.

We have a very exciting but busy month ahead of us. IĀ  hope that in April’s post I am able to tell you that my organisational mojo and I have rekindled our love affair.

Have you got any big plans for March? I would love to hear all about them in the comments.

Mrs H

Awwww, Caro! You are so lovely and kind. Knowing me I have probably set myself too many things to aim for and will struggle to tick any of the list. But it is something to aim for. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Yes! This is a brilliant idea – and be afraid – we will whoop you into shape.
I especially think the more juice is a good one – easy way to vitamin c to fight of those spring bugs!!

Noooo… a whooping sounds scarey. I should have just kept my mouth shut (or my laptop closed)! I am loving my morning juice. Most mornings I have an apple, carrot and orange juice and it is yummy. But it also feels so virtuous. I highly recommend it. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Wow what a great list. I love a good nosey on right move, we are moving in June and I currently check it twice a day! I hadn’t heard about the ‘From one mother to another’ campaign so thank you for sharing, We have lots of clothes that O has outgrown and I would love to know they are going somewhere to help. I look forward to hearing how you’ve got on next month.

Thank you for your lovely comment. I think the “from a mother to another” is a brilliant campaign. And although I love charity shops, I like the idea that my daughters clothes are going to someone who really needs them. Even if I fail at everything else on my bucket list, I really want to do that. Good luck with completing everything on your list too. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Sorry! About the song! I am my own worst enemy, as I have had it on loop in my head since I wrote this post. Thanks for your lovely comment about the long bob. I am still not sure. I’ll probably go to the hairdresser and make my mind up as I sit down in the chair. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Massive good luck with your move. I hope it goes well. I am really excited about looking for a house. I’m less excited about the logistics of buying and selling and moving. But it will be worthwhile when we have a house. Thanks for your comment and good luck ticking everything off your list. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Oooo what a fab list – so many exciting things to do! Majorly exciting about the potential house move. We moved from a (rented) flat to (our own) house last year and it’s just the best thing ever! I still look at Rightmove now though – I love nosing at houses! Look forward to seeing how you are getting on with your list next month šŸ™‚ xx

A night away in London sounds AMAZING!! I want to do more crafty sensory stuff too so will have a look at Kats list. We did baby sensory and enjoyed it – let me know if toddler sensory is just as good
I’ve become a Rightmove addict too – it’s just so much fun sitting thinking what you’d do with a certain house!
I will be hounding you the end of March to see how you have got on….!!
    Thanks for linking xx

We love Toddler Sense. Little Miss H was a little bit unsure at first because it is quite different from Baby Sensory. But now she has been going to classes for a few months and she completely adores it. I always struggle to get her off the bouncy castle and balance beams. I can’t wait for our night away in London either. Squeal. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
