Once again, I am linking up with my gorgeous friend Heledd who blogs at Running in Lavender. The idea is simply to share photographs that have captured a special moment in life. A moment to treasure and remember forever.
Mr H has recently added all our photographs onto Dropbox. We can now see all our photos on a timeline and it is lovely to look back at moments that I had forgotten.
I came across these photos taken at a special afternoon tea party that Little Miss H and I hosted on Easter Monday. It was a fabulous afternoon with fabulous friends.
My Captured Moment – A special afternoon tea party
You may think me odd, but I love hosting play dates.
For a few hours Little Miss H gets to run around madly with her friends. Whilst, I get to sit and chat with my mummy pals, eat cake and drink tea. What is not to like?!
Normally our play dates are low-key affairs. But on Easter Monday I decided to make an effort and invite Little Miss H’s friends and their yummy mummies to a special afternoon tea party.
I was delighted when I was contacted by Fabulous Partyware and they offered to send me some samples from their Princess and her kitten party range. This range is perfect for any princess-obsessed little girl. And it was perfect for an afternoon tea party for Little Miss H and her friends.
We were sent a cake stand, plates, a tablecloth and some cupcake cases and toppers. Unfortunately, the cake stand shown in the photographs is no longer available but this cute princess castle cupcake stand and table centrepiece would make a wonderful alternative.
As it was Easter, I also decorated the table with a vase of beautiful daffodils, polystyrene eggs decorated by Little Miss H and pink and blue tissue paper pom-poms. These decorations looked perfect when teamed with the Princess and the kitten partyware.
I had packed Mr H off to the pub and I relished being the hostess with the mostest. Serving cups of tea and plates of sandwiches. Followed by homemade vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting and smartie and chocolate button cookies.
Little Miss H had a wonderful afternoon playing with her friends. I often found her in a corner giggling with her gal pal Little Miss B. She was exhausted after everyone left and enjoyed a nap on the sofa while I tidied up.
And the best thing about hosting a play date? During nap time the following day, I got to put my feet up and enjoy a cup of tea and a leftover cupcake.
Do you like to host play dates? Or do you find the whole experience quite stressful?
Hugs
Mrs H

Disclosure:
I was sent the products from The Princess and her Kitten partyware range by Fabulous Partyware for the purpose of this post. However, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own and I only share products that I love.

October 8, 2015 at 7:57 pmSuch cute photos, Mrs H! I don’t mind hosting playdates either, providing there’s not too many children. It’s a fantastic excuse for tea and cake and tiring out the little ones 🙂

October 7, 2015 at 6:50 pmPlay dates can be quite stressful. But they can also be so much fun. I love the excuse to bake, eat cake and chat with my yummy mummy friends. I don’t like clearing up afterwards. Thanks so much for your comment. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
