This is week 6 of my Our Weekend Happy post. I’m so proud that I’m still writing these posts. They are now my favourite to write each week. It’s so nice to remind myself of what we did during the weekend. And writing the post starts to build up excitement for the coming weekend.
Anyway, in case you haven’t seen my previous Our Weekend Happy posts, it is based on a weekly post that one of my favourite bloggers, Lisa from Mummascribbles writes. I’ve always loved her posts. And so I decided that I wanted to write something similar.
A couple of weeks ago, Lisa and I launched Our Weekend Happy as a linky and an Instagram hashtag community. And tomorrow we will be hosting week 4 of this new linky. We would love you to join us and link up any happy blogs or vlogs about your weekend.
Also, please remember to use the hashtag #ourweekendhappy for any happy weekend Instagram photographs. We plan to do a monthly round-up of our favourite photos from the #ourweekendhappy community.
Lisa and I look forward to reading your Our Weekend Happy posts.
Our weekend Happy – #6
This week I am going to do a slightly different post for Our Weekend Happy. As we didn’t do much on Saturday but we did have the loveliest day on Sunday. In fact, it was a perfect day. The type of day that makes you happy to be alive. A day when the sun shines, the sky is blue and everyone smiles and laughs.

Our Saturday was quite uneventful as Little Mister H was recovering from being very sick the day before. However, Little Miss H did get to go to the birthday party of her twin best friends. She had a wonderful time decorating some yummy cupcakes and playing lots of fun party games. (She also enjoyed eating one of the cakes the next day).

A trip to the beach
On Sunday, we planned to take our monthly family day trip. And at the beginning of the year, we’d decided that we would spend the day at the seaside. As we all love a chilly and windswept day on the beach.
We chose to visit Bexhill-on-Sea and Hastings, as they were so close to each other. We started off at Bexhill and walked along the beach and the seafront. Little Mister H still wasn’t feeling fabulous but he managed to walk along by himself. He only threw one mini-tantrum. And that was because Little Miss H and Mr H had walked too far ahead.
After that, we headed to a supermarket to pick up some food for a picnic and drove the short distance to Hastings. Hastings itself was very busy so we actually parked up at St Leonard’s. It is the beach next to Hastings but it was much quieter and very relaxed.
We had a picnic in the car with a sea view. And then we headed out for another walk along the seafront. It was a wonderful day and we were all exhausted once we got back in the car. Little Miss, Little Mister and I all fell asleep while Mr H drove us home.
Then once home we watched some CBeebies before Mr H headed out to get us some fish and chips for dinner. We then put the children to bed and settled down for an evening of Netflix and blogging. Before heading upstairs for an early night.
