I am now 20 weeks pregnant.
I am not entirely sure how that happened.
I have been so anxious and worried about this pregnancy that the weeks since the last scan have passed in a blur.
I do feel like I am finally beginning to relax and enjoy this pregnancy. I have recently made a conscious decision that I need to treasure this amazing time in my life. This pregnancy was longed for. It would be a shame to wish it away because I am filled with doubts and fears.
Having the 20 week scan on Thursday helped me relax. It was a great milestone to reach and it was wonderful to see our baby fidgeting away.
I am always nervous before scans. I worry about the worst case scenario. And I sit in the waiting room sick from nerves and excitement.
Thankfully, the scan went well. Baby is healthy and everything looks as it should do.
And yes, we did find out the gender. Just as we did when I was pregnant with Little Miss H.
I believe that deciding to be told the gender of your baby or not is a very personal choice. Mr H and I were never in any doubt. We wanted to find out if we were going to have another little girl or if we would be welcoming a baby boy into our family.
Baking up a storm – our gender reveal video
So without further ado… here is our gender reveal video. Enjoy! (Please excuse our horrid kitchen).
Did you guess correctly? We are so excited. Eeeek!
Hugs
Lucy

March 7, 2016 at 8:06 pmAww congratulations!!! How lovely!! I completely understand your worry about scans, like you I have had miscarriages (fifteen of them) and my second son was stillborn at full term and so our experience of scans has been horrific to say the least. It’s lovely to have such a positive scan experience isn’t it? Congratulations again! #MarvMondays

March 10, 2016 at 7:23 amOh lovely, how terrible. I am so sorry to hear that. Scans can be such a nerve-wracking experience. I wish I could enjoy them as much as other people but I just don’t think that is possible. Thank you for your supportive comment and for your congratulations. Hugs Lucy xxxx

March 7, 2016 at 8:22 amOhh.. very exciting! What a cute idea for a reveal. I found mine out too – I loved knowing but I understand why people would keep it a surprise as well.

March 7, 2016 at 8:56 amThank you so much. And I am really glad you liked the reveal. Finding out the gender is definitely a very personal decision. But I am so glad that I found out both times. It helps Mr H and I bound with this baby. And this time it is so helpful being able to tell Little Miss H that she is going to have a baby brother. Hugs Lucy xxxx

March 7, 2016 at 8:03 amOh how exciting congratulations! I’m with you we wanted to know on both our pregnancies too and we had a girl than boy. My girl loves her little brother, it’s so nice. All the best for the best of the pregnancy X #marvmondays

March 7, 2016 at 8:57 amThank you so much. I am so glad to hear that your little girl loves her baby brother. Little Miss H was determined that she wanted a baby sister. But she is slowly adjusting to the idea of a brother. And by finding out the gender, it does really help her to bond with the baby. Thanks for your lovely comment. Hugs Lucy xxxx

March 6, 2016 at 10:15 amI’m so pleased for you Lucy and what a sweet video, I hope the cakes were as yummy as they look!! I think boys are always more for their Mummy, mine are all very affectionate even if they are a handful at times. We found boys names so hard, especially with the twins each time we’ve picked out a few and waited until they arrived to choose one. I hope the rest of the pregnancy continues to go as well lovely xxx
Mrs H
March 6, 2016 at 10:54 pmThanks for your gorgeous comment Hayley. You are so lovely. I am glad that you liked the video and those cakes were very yummy. Boys names are so hard. We had Little Miss H’s name picked out by 13 weeks. And this baby was going to be Lyra Kristen if they were a girl. But boys names we struggle with. Nothing really jumps out at us. I like your idea of having a few and then waiting until we meet our baby boy. I can’t wait for lots of scrummy baby cuddles with the littlest man in my life. Hugs Lucy xxxx

March 6, 2016 at 10:58 pmHa ha! Well done for guessing correctly Stevie. I was not right at all. And I thought Little Miss H was going to be a boy. So I am just rubbish at guessing the sex of my own baby. We are so excited though. This little boy will complete our family. Sorry I made your eyes leak a little. Hugs Lucy xxxx

March 6, 2016 at 11:05 pmThank you for your lovely comment. How come everyone guessed and I didn’t have a clue? Although, he does treat my tummy like a football, so that should have been a clue. We are so excited and I can’t wait to start shopping. I think I will wait until nearer the time before actually buying anything. But I already have my eye on a hugely cute sleepsuit for Little Mister H’s coming home outfit. Hugs Lucy xxxx
