Little Mister H at eight months old featuring Sgt. Smith

A photograph of our eight month old baby boy wearing a grey and yellow striped personalised dinosaur babygrow from Sgt. Smith, sitting up, starring at the camera, blowing a raspberry and with a very cheeky face - Little Mister H at eight months old - an update - Mrs H's favourite things - featured image

Our little boy is eight months old. He is growing up too quickly. Months pass in the blink of an eye. And the newborn days seem far behind us. Even at eight months old, Little Mister H seems to be approaching toddlerdom at a rate of knots. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts walking before he is a year old. But in the meantime I am treasuring every moment with our precious little munchkin. And he is such a joy to be with.…

My Rainbow Baby – featuring Real Mum Reviews

My Rainbow Baby is a blog series where I ask fellow bloggers to share the stories of their children born after baby loss. These babies are the rainbow that appears to brighten up the sky after the darkest storm - My Rainbow Baby Blog series - Mrs H's favourite things

Welcome back to my blog series, My Rainbow Baby. I am so sorry that I was not able to share a post last month. I was taking some time off from blogging to focus on myself and my family. I have created this blog series in the wish that it will give hope to anyone who has experienced baby loss or is struggling to have a longed for baby. To show that even after the darkest storm a rainbow can appear.…

Welcome to the second My Rainbow Baby post of 2017. I have created this series in the wish that it will give hope to anyone who has experienced baby loss or is struggling to have a longed for baby. Little Miss H and Little Mister H are not the only rainbow babies. There are many of them. And I want to share the beautiful and poignant tales of these special little rainbows. I am inviting others to tell these stories. To talk about…

My top 5 teething products

A photograph of a gorgeous 6 month old baby boy lying on a pale blue patchwork blanket and wearing a blue and black stripey top My top 5 teething products _ Mrs H's favourite things

Little Mister H has been grouchy all day. He’s been clingy and cried every time I have put him down. There has been a swimming pool full of dribble. He has been chewing everything in sight. And he has had a slight temperature and red cheeks. He is teething. And it sucks. When Little Miss started teething I had no idea what to do. I had read about it in baby books and magazines but nothing prepared me for how…

An Open Letter To Our First Baby

A sepia tinted photograph of a young baby's feet and toes - A open letter to our first baby - Mrs H's favourite things

Dear Baby, Today could have been your 4th birthday. Today your Daddy and I could have been singing happy birthday to you. We could have watched you open your presents. Seen you smile as you blew out the candles on your cake. We could have taken you to see the animals at London Zoo. Maybe you would have asked to take one of your new toys with you.…

Little Mister H at six months old

A photograph of a six month old baby boy lying underneath a rainbow blanket and smiling up at the camera Little Mister H six months update _ Mrs H's favourite things

The past six months have been the quickest six months of my life. After a pregnancy that dragged and often seemed as long as the gestation period of an elephant, the last few months have flown by. Our baby boy is no longer a new born. And in the past month he has become a real little boy.…

Babywearing love – a review of the Wuti Wrap by We Made Me

A photograph collage of a mother wearing her young baby in the Wuti Wrap by We Made Me - Babywearing love - a review of the Wuti Wrap by We Made Me

Little Miss H was six months old when I started babywearing. I bought a bamboo woven wrap and began to carry her for journeys into town or to see friends. I also wrapped her when I was doing chores around the house and she needed to nap. During my pregnancy with Little Mister H, I would imagine our little boy as a newborn baby. And I would become excited about the idea of wearing him. Being able to breathe in…

Wooden Toys Wish List

A collage of fabulous wooden toys for baby and toddler boys - including a fabulous fire engine ride on from Halfords, Grimms conical rainbow stacker and a Bajo wooden mouse and Gruffalo figures - Wooden toys wish list for baby and toddler boys - Mrs H's favourite things

Little Mister and Little Miss H have a lot of toys. But without doubt my favourite are their wooden toys. These are the toys that are enduring classics. They are the toys that they play with over and over again and that fire their imagination. They are also safer for them as wooden toys tend not to have any nasty chemicals. Which is handy when you have a baby who puts anything and everything in their mouth. And my, are wooden toys pretty…
